Legally Blonde the Musical hits the right notes

So, I've been pretty quiet the last week, but only due to a pretty busy schedule. One of the things that occupied my time was our celebration of Valentine's Day, which also marks our nine-year wedding anniversary.

Dave was very gracious and bought us tickets to see Legally Blonde the Musical, which has premiered at the Golden Gate Theater in San Francisco!! I was extremely excited because I love musicals, liked the movie and am so glad to live in a metropolitan area where I can see quality live theater.

As a brand-new show, the musical could have been a hit or miss, and so our expectations going into it were pretty low. However, we knew the basic plot of the story, and thought that the light, comedic plot would be a good compromise, especially since Dave is not a fan of musicals.

Fortunately, we were not disappointed. The songs were catchy and the dialogue was fun. The show did not take itself too seriously and made for nice entertainment. Occasionally there was a cheesy song line here and there, but overall, it was a very enjoyable performance and the singing was top notch.

We also enjoyed driving into the City -- too bad we didn't have more time to explore, but alas it was a school night and we needed to get rest for work the next day... can't wait for our next visit. :-)

Thanks for the review, Tanya! Joel & I were thinking about seeing a show on Broadway while we are in New York City. Looks like it might be in April (the travel dates arent confirmed yet) so this might be a good one to see. :):)

Blessings,
Paula

this has nothing to do with the musical, but I noticed in Dave's blog that you went riding with him on the motorcycle. How was that? I know that I'd never ridden with anyone basically until Steve...who even bought me a nice leather biking jacket. Did you like it?
